 Today in class, we worked on a Newsella assignment. I personally am not a big fan of our newsella assignments but the article was very interesting. The article was about climate change and how scientists are using certain tools to study it.

Reflection 4/24

After a long week of EOC testing, we are finally back to our regular bell schedule. Today in class, we watched a video about a woman and her child who live off minimum wage in New York. Most of my classes focus on budgeting and finance as a whole, so I'm glad we have an assignment that correlates with my other classes.

 We just had a study hall in the auditorium. 

4/16 Reflection

 Today in class, we continued with Newsuela assignments. Today's assignment was about how sneaker design can cause pollution due to the toxicity in the shoes. I had never learned about this before, so it was interesting to hear about how something as small as shoes can impact our environment. 

4/15 Reflection

 Today we did a Newsela assignment about tech-related jobs. It was interesting to read about how things like social media have impacted jobs in recent years, especially for the arts. 

4/12 Reflection

 Today in class, we went over claims. I am very familiar with claims due to my old English classes, but it was nice to refresh the material. Part of me thinks that Mr. Rease is alluring to an essay assignment due to the recent assignments we've been doing, but we will see. 

4/10 Reflection

 Today in class, we started with unpopular opinions. Everyone was assigned an unpopular opinion, and we had to write arguments, agreements, and compromises. I was assigned an opinion about high school dating. Exploring the sides of high school dating was eye-opening, but I still have the same opinion: people can date if they want to, and if they don't want to, they don't have to. 

My Spring Break 4/9/24

 Over my spring break, we went to my family's lakehouse and went to Colorado. Going to the lakehouse and seeing my whole family for easter was such a blessing; it was very nice having my siblings home from college to celebrate with us. Afterward, we left the lake we flew to Colorado; a good friend of mine drove my family and me to Heartsfield-Jackson, and we went. It was a good flight, but afterward, we had to dive about 4 hours to Steamboat. I get very motion sick, so I drove the whole way, and it was the most beautiful drive I've ever been on. Driving through the mountains, the snow was so gorgeous, and not long after we arrived, we got our ski rentals and rested for the rest of the evening. We snowboarded all day the next couple of days and had a blast. My break may not have been the most relaxing, but spending my senior spring break with my family was great.
